COVID-19

The Livingston Centre and Mall office locations are now closed to the public until further notice. As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have a wide-reaching impact, rest assured that the Multi-Service Centre (MSC) is giving it our full attention. We continue to monitor the developing situation closely and are re-assessing our current measures often. We want you to know that we are very well prepared for an emergency like this, and have comprehensive pandemic and infectious disease protocol and plans in place.

While the global and local climate continues to shift in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to assure you that we continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments accordingly.  We are mindful of the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and clients, as we balance the need to provide service to those who depend on us while operating in a manner that minimizes the impact of COVID-19 in our community.  At this point:

  • Both The Livingston Centre and Mall office locations, along with our itinerant location at Frogmore, have been closed to the public until further notice.  Staff will be working off-site and assisting clients via email and telephone.
  • The hot lunch route in Norwich and Straffordville and all supper time Meals on Wheels routes have been suspended until further notice. Hot lunch routes in Tillsonburg continue. All clients are being supported with the option of frozen meals delivered to their homes.
  • Face-to-face appointments with clients have been suspended until further notice.  Staff continue to communicate and support our clients via telephone, email, text and via the use of technology.  Home visits for clients of our Assisted Living Program continue.
  • All group and class activities continue to be suspended. This includes the footcare and housekeeping programs as well as Stonebridge seniors’ health & wellness classes.

I would like to personally assure you that we will continue to monitor this situation as it develops and reassess our measures to protect our staff, volunteers and clients.  Also, please do your part and remain diligent in your efforts to minimize unnecessary contact with others and practice recommended hygiene measures.  This includes:

  • Frequent hand hygiene, sneeze and cough etiquette
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Increased disinfection of shared spaces
  • Social distancing
  • Minimizing non-essential trips outside their home, such as the grocery store
